ANDREAS YANNOPOULOS - Panhellenic Medical Emergency & Social Interaction Coordination Center

All services of the Organization "The Smile of the Child" in Attica to be consolidated in one building

in the municipality of Agia Paraskevi thanks to the legacy of the late Konstantinos Malamos

"The Smile of the Child", 25 years since its founding, acquired a new building on 80 Garytou Street in the municipality of Agia Paraskevi, thanks to the generosity of our late benefactor Konstantinos Malamos. Aiming to broaden support for children and their families, the Organization will house all its services in Attica in a new spot, a building that will function as the Panhellenic Medical Emergency & Social Interaction Coordination Center in Attica.

This space, dedicated to the 10-year-old founder of the Organization, Andreas Yannopoulos, provides the solution to an important multi-year need to house all services in one space in Attica, aiming for the optimal operation and coordination of all services, in benefit of all vulnerable children and their families in Greece.

The President of the Organization Costas Yannopoulos stated; "I am pleased and proud because after 25 years of operation, “The smile of the Child " has acquired its own space thanks to the generosity of our late benefactor, Konstantinos Malamos. From 2021 we will be operating in a new building dedicated to my son, Andreas: the Panhellenic Medical Emergency & Social Interaction Coordination Center, in Attica. I am confident that our next 25 years will see a broader vision and effectiveness. We extend our warmest gratitude to the sponsors who once again stood by our side, and to all those who worked hard to complete our new base of operations."

From our new address we will provide the full spectrum of our services of social, medical, psychological support, free of charge for every child and family in Greece.

Specifically:

• Social Polyclinic, with well-equipped Pediatric, Ophthalmological, ENT Clinic and Dental Office. The Polyclinic will cover free of charge the needs of children with health problems, whose families are experiencing living problems or experiencing social exclusion for any reason.
• Operational Center both for the coordination of the Helplines active on a 24/7 basis (National Hotline for Children SOS 1056, the European Hotline for Missing Children 116000, the European Helpline for Children and Adolescents 116111) as well as for the recovery of missing children and adults. (Amber Alert Hellas for minors, Missing Alert Hellas for adults, "Thanasis Makris" Search & Rescue Team)
• Academy of Education & Training "Smile Academy" with physical and digital presence, which aims at the development of skills, abilities, life attitudes and habits, addressed to children, parents, guardians, teachers and other professionals, available free of charge.

At the same time it will act as a central base for:

• The management of the mobile medical neonatal and children intensive care units (ambulances), active on a 24/7 basis and at the disposal of the National Centre for Direct Assistance (EKAB).
• The management of all direct social and medical intervention vehicles of the Organization, alert to take action on a 24/7 basis. For example, Operational Vehicles used in the recovery of missing children, Emergency Response Vehicles for children at risk, Mobile Units for immediate psychological support.
• All medical services provided by the Organization, including Preventive Medicine and Dentistry, Pediatric Home Treatment, Creative Employment in hospitals.
• The offices of social workers and psychologists employed in the 11 Homes of the Organization nationwide, in which child victims of all forms of violence are brought up.
• The Center also houses the Volunteer Dept., the voluntary Creative Workshop, the E-Shop as well as the Departments of International Cooperations and Projects of the Organization.
