The Duck goes...

“The duck goes…” is a program which aims to fostering the knowledge and skills of children in the case of a disappearance, namely in a situation where they lose their orientation or for some reason they are not able to trace the person that exerts their parental care. The program is implemented from kindergarten and primary school teachers following relevant training from the scientific personnel of the Organization “The Smile of the Child”.

The program is based on stories narration and the theory of educational constructivism as well as on the model of Life Skills with emphasis on the cultivation of the self-conscience of children.

“The Duck goes…” can be implemented only from teachers who have previously being trained to the program through a specialized and targeted education.

The main goal of the program is to educate students in the case of an unfortunate event of a child disappearance as well as reduce the possibility to experience such situation. The messages derive from the bibliography issues by the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children and more specifically children will be educated in the following areas/situations:

● In case I lose sight of my mom/dad I remain to where I stand without moving
● I do not follow unknown individuals
● I shout loudly
● I trust police officers
● I am aware of my name, the telephone number of my parents/relative/hotline
