The National Observatory for Child Well-being, of "The Smile of the Child," aims to record child well-being in Greece in a multidimensional manner.
Every year, the organization records and maps the well-being of children both at the local and national levels. Thereafter, public policies are proposed to improve their well-being through innovative decision-making tools.
Based on the findings of the observatory, “The Smile of the Child”:
• Plans services and actions to deal with child poverty.
• Uses the records of specific needs (quantitative, qualitative, and geographical) of children and their families to effectively intervene and develop targeted solutions to their problems.
• Informs competent bodies, aiming at their intervention and planning similar actions.
The website of the National Observatory for Child Well-being (http://www.childrenwelfaresm.com/en ) provides free longitudinal records of the child well-being, which can be used for research by local and academic bodies.
