A month dedicated to Children’s Rights
A month dedicated to actions against all forms of Child Abuse
In November 2025, “The Smile of the Child” carries out initiatives focused on children and their protection, while honoring its 10-year-old founder, Andreas Giannopoulos, and celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Organization.
9 November 2025
“The Smile of the Child” celebrates 30 years of meaningful work in Greece and abroad, honoring its 10-year-old Founder, Andreas Giannopoulos, the unique inspiration behind this tremendous effort to support children in Greece.
On the same day, major cities across Greece will join the celebration by illuminating landmark buildings in blue, the color of “The Smile of the Child”.
8-9 November 2025
“The Smile of the Child” will support and actively participate in the Athens Authentic Marathon, inviting everyone — children and adults alike — to visit its booth at the Sponsor’s Village, across from the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro).
5–26 November 2025
The Organization will be in the Region of Western Greece, the second stop in its nationwide tour that began in March in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
The Organization and its scientific team will visit cities across Western Greece to offer free services of prevention, awareness, and education to students, parents, guardians, and the general public.
The goal of this tour is to identify local needs and create the Western Greece Regional Network, similar to the one already established in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, with the participation of all relevant agencies — aiming to support every child, youth, and family in the area.
This initiative is implemented in cooperation with the Region of Western Greece, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, the Ministry of Citizen Protection, and the Union of Regions of Greece.

As the President of the Board of the European Anti-Bullying Network (EAN), “The Smile of the Child” will be in Brussels, leading both the Board Meeting and the General Assembly of the Network’s members.

In Brussels, “The Smile of the Child” and other members of the European Anti-Bullying Network will co-organize, together with MEPs Brando Benifei and Maria Guzenina, a Meeting at the European Parliament on:
“Digital Well-being, Crime and Bullying Prevention in Cyberspace: How Overexposure Affects Children’s Cognitive Development and School Life.”

On the occasion of World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse, “The Smile of the Child” and the National Center for Child Abuse and Exploitation will release data on the evolution of child abuse and sexual abuse in Greece, and present the campaign “It Remains a Secret”, against child sexual abuse under the auspices of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Konstantinos An. Tasoulas.

Marking World Children’s Rights Day, “The Smile of the Child” and its European Student Volunteer Network, YouSmile, will host a European Conference on Children’s Rights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and the Ministry of Health.
Conference Topics
The themes of Bullying, Family Relationships and Role Models, Internet Safety and the Challenge of AI, Violence against Children, Racism and Hate Speech, Children’s Rights at School were identified by groups of children and adolescents from across Europe, who will also play a leading role in the Conference proceedings.
