15th of February: International Childhood Cancer Day

On today's International Childhood Cancer Day, we would like to dedicate this text to the powerful heroes that we have met at Children’s Hospitals and to the daily struggle they give along with their families.

Cancer, a word that causes .... questions and many questions.

Like the one expressed to a family friend by a teenager when he visited him at the Oncology Clinic: “Okay we'll fight it. I just wonder how this happened to me so suddenly? "

Childhood Cancer a word that causes numbness like the one felt by a student when he was discussing with his friends about his difficult days at the hospital when he was young, and he had to fight with leukemia.

A word so inadequate, since children despite their illness and the difficulties they experience, they wait for us every afternoon with joy and impatience, so they can play, talk and smile in the framework of the Recreational Activities” action that “The Smile of the Child” carries out at Children’s Hospitals.

A word which is so tough, but not insurmountable!

On this International Childhood Cancer Day, we wish to all our young friends a quick recovery and we promise them that we will continue to be next to them offering what they need and sharing Smiles and moments of joy in the hospital.
