Support 10 families in need

Through the Center for Vulnerable Families, Children and Youth in Larisa, “The Smile of the Child” is daily next to families having difficulties.

Unemployment, serious health problems, mental health difficulties, domestic violence and social exclusion are just some of the issues that cause parents and children to be unable to meet their basic needs.

The Center in Larisa already supports dozens of families. However, since Easter, 10 more families have asked for our help. The available funds are not sufficient. And now we need you.

Sofia’s Story

35-year-old Sofia is raising her 5-year-old twin girls on her own. Following years of abuse, she managed to get away from her violent partner. She has no other family. The three of them live in a small apartment in Larisa and Sofia works 4 hours a day at a supermarket, struggling daily for the absolute necessities.

However, Sofia is not alone. She is one of the 10 families that you can support today.

What we provide with your help

• Basic needs: food, clothing, shoes, school supplies, toys
• Medical coverage: medications, examinations, treatments
• Educational support: for children of all ages
• Psychological support: by professionals, for children and parents
• Home visits: by a Social Worker and a Psychologist for individualized care

All of this is provided with respect, discretion and care so that each family can get on with their daily lives with dignity.

Our goal: 15,000€ for the support of 10 families in Larisa for one year.

Each contribution – large or small – brings us one step closer to providing children and their parents with what they deserve: security and care.
