“The Smile of the Child” visited the Embassy of South Africa

H.E. Beryl Rose Sisulu, Ambassador of South Africa to Greece and staff of the Embassy welcomed at the premises of the Embassy the President of the Board of Directors of ‘The Smile of the Child”, Mr. Costas Yannopoulos.

Both sides affirmed their excellent collaboration and discussed the joint organization of the upcoming 19th African Cultural Festival. On the occasion of the Nelson Mandela International Day, celebrated every year on the 18^th of July, the Ambassador of South Africa and staff of the Embassy will visit on the 17^th of Juy 2020 the Home of “The Smile of the Child” in Iraklitsa, Kavala, where 20 children are growing up in a safe environement.

The Home of “The Smile of the Child” in Kavala was donated from the late Ioannis Symeonidis, who lived and worked in South Africa. Dedicated to his memory the house is named “Villa of Nelson Mandela”.
