Meeting with ΗΕ the Ambassador of Albania Luela Hajdaraga at "The Smile"

Following the action "Diplomats for Children" (https://www.hamogelo.gr/gr/en/ta-nea-mas/diplomats-for-children-xamogelo/), a meeting of diplomats for "The Smile" that was held last May, on June 23 we had the honor to welcome at the Panhellenic Coordinating Operational Center for Direct Social & Medical Intervention "Andreas Yannopoulos", in Aghia Paraskevi, HE the Ambassador of Albania, Luela Hajdaraga.
During her visit, which was a great pleasure for us, we had the opportunity to present the work, actions and principles of the Organization, while special reference was made to the history of the Organization’s relations with Albania, from the beginning of the activities for children on the streets in the ‘90s and the many challenges, but also our cooperation in the field of missing children. Upon the completion of the meeting, a brief tour of the premises of the Organization was carried out.
Our cooperation with Albania has developed on many levels, such as within the European Federation for Missing and Exploited Children (Missing Children Europe – MCE) and the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children - ICMEC. It is worth mentioning that a psychologist of the Organization participated as trainer in a training recently organized by ICMEC in Tirana (13-14/06/2023) on the implementation of Amber Alert in Albania. The President of the Board of Directors, Mr. Costas Yannopoulos, in the context of the already existing cooperation, invited the Albanian authorities to visit Greece to see the practices of Amber Alert first hand.
HE Ambassador Luela Hajdaraga expressed her interest and admiration for the work of the Organization, and suggested that a second targeted meeting be organized for staff of their consular section, in order for them to be fully informed about our services and then better inform their citizens.
In anticipation of our next meeting, we thank HE Ambassador Luela Hajdaraga and the people of the Embassy of Albania for their consistently positive attitude, their long-lasting cooperation and their visit.
