“The Smile of the Child” meets with the President of Malta on the rights of the child

With Her Excellency the President of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, and representatives of her Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society met the President of the BoD of “The Smile of the Child”, Costas Yannopoulos and the Head of International Cooperation, Honorable Ambassador, Marc Van den Reeck.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace on 24 January 2016 in Malta and both sides discussed issues of mutual interest in the area of the rights of the child whereas they committed to establish a collaboration agreement for initiatives among others with child participation. In this regard the European Student Volunteer Network YouSmile drew particular attention and was identified as one of the crucial instruments for the exchange of good practices and cooperation between “The Smile of the Child” and the Maltese side.
The team of “The Smile of the Child” visited Malta from 24-26 January 2016 and contributed to the Lost in Migration Conference, held from Missing Children Europe, whose active member is the Greek Organization, in cooperation with the President’s Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society and in the framework of the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
