PRESS RELEASE

On May 8th 2020 the INTEGRA project “Transnational Conference on Multidisciplinary Mentorship to support the entrepreneurship of children in care and young care leavers" was to take place in Nicosia, Cyprus, hosted by the project coordinator, “Hope for Children” CRC Policy Center. The project partners from several Southern European countries (Italy, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Cyprus), were to present the INTEGRA Mentoring and Integration tools and the results regarding its implementation among professionals and the young care leavers in their own countries. Furthermore, representatives from the Cyprus branch of the European Counselling and Mentoring Association mentoring vulnerable young people, as well as young adults who have aged out of care services were invited to share their experience and successful integration practices.

In line with the guidance from the World Health Organization and given the escalation of governmental measures everywhere in Europe against COVID-19, the level of uncertainty is such that prevents us of further planning. Therefore, we would like to announce the cancelation of the INTEGRA Transnational Conference on Multidisciplinary Mentorship to support the entrepreneurship of children in care and young care leavers to be held in Cyprus on May 8th.

Despite the restrictions to live public events, the project partners agree that it is really important to share the experiences gathered during the workshops, in which they have been applying the tools offered by the Mentoring Integration Program (MIP), the main product developed during the project, to residential care professionals and other professionals who closely work with minors leaving the care-systems to successfully support their social and professional integration.

Therefore, we would like to announce that, as an alternative, the INTEGRA partners will be hosting a digital conference. We are now drafting the agenda and exploring the best options for all of the partners and audience to join and being able to follow the last step of the journey started on May 2018.

We will soon start the dissemination of the digital event sharing the date, the agenda and the last updates.
