US Marines donate toys to "The Smile"

We received a very pleasant visit today at "Smile" from two representatives of the Marine Security Guard Detachment, U.S. Embassy Athens, who wished to give joy and bring smiles to children’s faces.

As part of their initiative of donating clothes and toys to organizations, Agencies, etc. they contacted "The Smile of the Child" and visited the Panhellenic Coordinating Operational Center for Direct Social & Medical Intervention "Andreas Yannopoulos" in Aghia Paraskevi to deliver over 100 toys, as well as make a cash donation.

On this occasion, they were given a tour of the premises of the Organization, the Social Polyclinic, the premises of the 4 Helplines of the Organization in Athens [1056, 116000, 116111, 1017] and were informed about the holistic work and specialized actions of “Smile”.

Following the tour and their discussion with “Smile’s” representatives, they expressed their interest to volunteer, as individuals and/or as a group, in “Smile” events or actions, as well as to meet with children in order to share their experiences and inspire them.

They committed to informing others further about “Smile’s” work and ensuring a continuous and stable cooperation between the Marine Security Guard Detachment and “Smile.”
