Pediatric Home Treatment
«The Smile of the Child», as part of
the services provided to each child with health problem and its family,
implements the Program Pediatric Home Treatment.
The action is addressed to children suffering from serious health problems and
most of them unable to move.
An expert team of health professionals of the Organization with a mobile medical
unit visits the home of the child, where it provides:
- Medical and Nursing care, under the guidance of Doctors and Directors of Clinical Pediatric Hospitals.
- Social and psychological support for children with health problems and their families.
- Creative activities for children.
The purpose of our action is:
- To ensure a better quality of life for children with serious health problems and their families.
- Supportive help within the family environment.
- Training of the child's parents.
- Reduction of the risk for children to suffer from intra-hospital infections.
- Less discomfort for the child and its family from the frequent trips to the hospital.
- Reduction of calls to the ambulances.
- Facilitation of the work of doctors and nurses seeking the assistance of our Association.
- The decongestion and better utilization of hospital beds.
«The Smile of the Child» implements the action Pediatric Home Treatment since 2010.
