Maria’s family is one of the few on the island with four or more children. She is the mother of five: 3-year-old twins Gregory and Anna, and three daughters aged 5, 7, and 10.

Everyday life has become increasingly difficult. Her husband, Nikos, once ran a small pastry shop that allowed the family to make ends meet while Maria stayed home to care for the children. But when the business began to struggle, debts mounted, and the shop was eventually forced to close. Maria now works long hours at a local mini market to keep the family afloat.

Our team of social workers and psychologists stand by Maria’s family every day—ensuring the children’s needs are met and their daily lives remain as stable and joyful as possible. From medical checkups, vaccinations, and dental visits to food, clothing, school supplies, and even access to daycare, we make sure nothing essential is left behind.
