Safe On-Life

The Safe On-Life project seeks to enhance children’s digital safety and well-being by equipping a diverse range of carers of children with robust, context-sensitive digital literacy skills. The approach is comprehensive, gender-sensitive, intersectional, and participatory – placing children and their carers at the center of co-designed interventions. The project will improve an existing EU-funded digital literacy programme by updating its content, expanding participation, and embedding child-led processes. Reflecting its commitment to a participatory, rights-based approach, the project will establish two participatory bodies – a Children Review Board and a Carers Review Board – to co-design, review, and validate all educational resources and campaign material.

Grounded in key EU frameworks like the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child and the BIK+, the project strives to reduce digital inequalities, promote children's rights online, and build inclusive, gender-sensitive, child-centered digital eco.

Building on this foundation, the project will:

• deliver enhanced training to 1.000 parents, carers of children, teachers, club and sport leaders and youth workers in Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, and Albania, through a blended format (digital modules, face-to-face workshops, and applied learning via educational challenges).
• support parents, carers of children, teachers, club and sport leaders and youth workers in implementing safe digital practices with children, particularly in non-traditional or vulnerable settings;
• launch a public awareness campaign using accessible media formats (e.g. podcasts, micro-learning videos, animations) and host an international conference to amplify visibility and ensure long-term impact.
