Message conSENT

MENTORING ELEMENTARY TEACHERS & STUDENTS ON CONSENT

The Message conSENT is a 24-month KA220 School education project that aims to mentor and educate teachers at elementary schools in order to teach ways of understanding, negotiating, and learning consent as a life skill to children of ages 8-12 through HRE practices. The Message conSENT project will develop simple teaching materials to assist educators and parents in teaching and discussing consent as a life skill to primary pupils. The project's goal is to contribute to the prevention of gender-based violence by intervening in early education and educating both young boys and young girls about personal boundaries, how to say no and respect no, how to understand and respect both their own and others' wills, through the methodology of Human Rights Education, development of communication and mutual respect skills and conflict management.

Message conSENT concrete results:

  • Guide for Teachers Development & Experiential Learning Lesson Plans: A methodological practical guide designed for teachers at elementary schools that contains info, tools, and lesson plans on teaching consent as a life skill through HRE.
  • Digital Learning Hub and – Interactive Training Modules: an online learning space with interactive training material on consent and HRE.
  • Capacity Building activities for teachers: a series of local workshops at partners’ countries and an international LTTA for the partner’s professionals.
